Order of October 20th, 1970

Minister of Transport,

Seen the statutory order of January 9th, 1852 on the maritime peach(fishing) in particular its article 3;

Seen the prescription of June 3rd, 1944 carrying(wearing) reorganization of the maritime peaches in particular his(her,its) article 4.

Considering the contribution of delphinidés to the ecological balance of their oceans and their use in the field of the scientific and technical research,

Stop(Arrest):

Art. 1 - It is forbidden to destroy(annul), to continue or to arrest whatever process it is, even without intention to kill them, the maritime mammals of the family of delphinidés (dolphins(dauphins) and porpoises).

Art. 2 - The capacities above do not apply to the operations led only in a purpose of scientific research.

Art. 3 - The directors of the maritime business(cases) in Havre, Saint-Servan, Nantes, Bordeaux and Marseille are in charge of, each what concerns him(it), of the execution of the present order, which will be published in the Official Newspaper of the French Republic and inserted in the Official Bulletin of the merchant navy.
